16th Day of Craftsmas // Mini Gingerbread Houses

Look at these three little buddies all standing in a row. I used store bought almond wafers (which are actually amazingly delicious) and I made my own royal icing. You may actually want to eat these after ;) Candy may be added if necessary. Nice little pearly

dragées or white sprinkles would be pretty too. The point is to remain simple. I'm sure there are more combinations you could do to build these little guys, but I only came up with three.

Supplies:

  •  Almond wafers from the store
  • 1 batch of Royal Icing
  • Powdered sugar for snow
  • Piping bag (disposable is fine)

Directions:

From left to right -

1. Fill your piping bag with royal icing. Glue four wafers together with the glue. Allow to dry for a few minutes. Add another bead of glue to both tops of the walls and place two more wafers on the top and join them together with another bead of glue.

2. Glue the four wafers together exactly like the first one. This time you're just going to lay the two wafers on top as the roof.

3. For the little A-frame one, you will need to carefully cut a triangle into the tops of two wafers. It takes a little finesse but can be done with scissors. Glue two wafers to the triangles.

Allow the houses to set and then use the piping bag to pipe on a door, windows, stripes, and icicles. Have fun, be creative.
