DIY // Dip Dyed Lamp Shade
Sometimes you want to spruce up an area of your home and maybe buy something new. This is a really easy way to liven up an old lamp shade that you may have gotten from
or something without going and buying a brand new one. And yes, they sell these types of things at
but why not make it yourself?
What you'll need:
- Lamp shade of your choice
- Rit dye
- Water
- Bowl or bucket
1. We used about 1/4 of the bottle of dye and poured about 3 cups of water in it.
2. Dunk the lamp shade into the bowl with the dye and swirl around a bit.
3. Dunk it two or three times and let is soak for a few minutes. Place on paper towels and let it dry.
You can dip the dye as many times as you would like. Don't worry about the lines being perfect, it will take it's own shape and ombre effect naturally. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
