Eating In // Vegan Dessert Balls

The need for this recipe came about when we were celebrating my sister's birthday. She doesn't eat gluten, dairy, or refined sugars, among other things. The challenge was to create a dessert that she could eat and that would also be delicious. So, here you go, Vegan Date Balls.

The Goods:

  • 1 cup almond meal ( I just took raw almonds and pulverized them in the food processor)
  • 10-12 pitted dates
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil

Directions:

  1. Grind the almonds in a food processor first until they are a course meal. Add all of the rest of the ingredients and grind until a soft dough is formed. If it looks to moist, add more cocoa powder, if it looks to dry add more oil or syrup.
  2. Once everything is nicely ground up, form the dough into balls and then chill for 30 minutes or until ready to serve. So easy!
