DIY // Double Decker Wreath
Hi everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the holiday season thus far. I know I am. I recently came across some pictures of double- decker wreaths and I thought I would give one a try.Wreaths are so festive and inexpensive. My boxwood bushes take a real hit this time of year ;). I love how this one just delicately floats in the air. I am going to tell you that this project is easy but it is a tad bit tedious. It is definitely worth it. Give it a try.
Supplies:
- various foraged branches from shrubs, pine trees, etc.
- floral wire
- bakers twine or jute
- scissors or wire cutters
Directions:
- Start by wiring the branches together end to end of each branch. Do it until you have a line of branches that's about 24" inches long and then connect it to make a circle. Repeat this step for the second wreath but make the line about 16" long.
- lay the smaller circle inside the larger circle. Cut four 6" inch pieces of the twine. Pick four spots on the circles and space them equally apart. Tie the string to connect both the wreaths.
- Cut four more strings to about 16" inches and attach them to the same spots as the other strings. This will be what you use to hang the wreath.
- Trim any excess pieces of string and then hang it up. I chose to hang it over my dining table.
