Christmas // What to do with trimmings
I like to keep things relatively simple and natural as far as Christmas decor goes. Every year when I get a tree I ask the guy with the chain saw to give me the extra branches that he trims off of the bottom ( a trick my mother taught me). I make wreaths, of course, out of the trimmings that I bring home. This year, I decided to take some of those little branches and put them in various glass vessels. The list includes, but is not limited to, a vintage milk jar and ink well, a couple of candle holders, and a mason jar. For an added touch, I tied red and white twine around the glasses. It's a good way to make use of the beautiful trimmings that would otherwise be thrown away. -MF
