DIY // Sage & Thyme Infused Salt Favors
Looking for a good idea for a party favor? Or maybe a handmade gift for a cook in the family? Try infused salts. It's really inexpensive and easy to put together. We had a party a little while back and handed these out to each guest as they left. We made thyme and sage infused salt which will go perfectly with pretty much any Thanksgiving dish.
Supplies needed:
Makes 40 favors
- 4 cups Kosher salt
- 1 bunch thyme
- 1 bunch sage, chopped
- string
- small zip-close bags ( from Michaels)
- 40 small paper bags ( from Michaels)
Directions:
- In a large pot, pour in the salt and add the herbs. You can put the thyme in whole. The leaves will fall off and you can remove the stems.
- Heat the salt over medium heat, stirring until warmed throughout.
- Allow the pot to sit for at least 6 hours or overnight.
- To package the salt, when put them in the little plastic bags first and then put two in each paper bag. If you want to write on the bag, be sure to do that before you stuff them with the salt. We just wrote what it was in the bag and then put our name on it.
- Take your twine and just tie the bag closed. That's it!
