Eating In // Apple-Beet Juice
Need a boost? Try freshly pressed juice. I am relatively new to juicing (in fact my juicer is borrowed from my mother) but, I have come to love it. What I have learned is that it is important to balance vegetables and fruits so as to not have too much sugar in the mix. If you have a juicer, I would encourage you to try this recipe.
The Goods:
Serves 1-2
- 3 apples
- 1 beet
- 1/2 lemon
- 1/2 sweet potato
- 2 carrots
Directions:
- Cut the fruits and vegetables in halves or fourths. Just cut them enough to ensure that they fit in the juicer. Make sure to wash them all really well. I don't peel anything but you certainly can if you're squeamish about vegetable peels.
- Throw all of the goods into the juicer and watch the magic happen. Serve over ice and enjoy!
